Centre d'Estudis de Temes ContemporanisThe Centre d'Estudis de Temes Contemporanis (CETC) was created in 1989 as a service attached to the Department of the Presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia (Autonomous Government). Therefore, in 2004 the CETC celebrated its first his 15 of years of existence. The first director was the essayist Jaume Lorés (1989-1998), that was followed by Àngel Castiñeira (1998-2004), philosopher, Jaume Renyer (2004-2005), jurist, Enric Pujol (2005-2006), historian, Joaquim Albareda, also historian (2006) and Alfred Bosch, writer and historian (2007). At present, the CETC is integrated into the Directorate General of Departmental Action of the Department of the Vice-Presidency.
The CETC belongs to the government of Catalunya, autonomous community of the Spanish State (http://www.gencat.cat/catalunya/)
Research, diagnosis and assessment of facts, events and trends from the contemporary environment that affect the Catalan and the universal situation, especially those related to the techno-economic, socio-political and cultural fields.
The promotion and the coordination of initiatives and of activities linked to the intellectual world of social and human sciences in the national, state or international sphere. These initiatives include:
The circulation of the reports and the results of various research projects in all kinds of publications, both on paper and in electronic media.
The CETC has a stable team of specialists who coordinate the research work, the publications and the rest of the activities (courses, conferences and seminars).
