
George J. Borjas is a professor of social policy at John F. Kennedy School, Harvard University, a research associate on immigration at the US National Bureau of Economic Research, and a former member of the National Academy of Sciences Panel on Immigration Statistics. Borjas participed in a public function at the Col•legi d’Economistes de Catalunya (Av. Diagonal, 512, principal 08006 Barcelona) which took place in its Function Room on Thursday 29 May at 7 p.m. with the purpose of presenting and debating his book. He was accompanied in the debate by Oriol Amorós, Catalan Secretary for Immigration,Guillem López Casasnovas, Professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and author of the prologue; Joan Maria Esteban, Research Professor from the CSIC; and Alfred Bosch, Director of the Centre d’Estudis de Temes Contemporanis.
